CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 3 BOARD OF DIRECTOR WINNERS!

We would like to congratulate the three winners of this election:

1.  First place Suzanne Mark (endorsed by Take Back SawCreek)
2.  Second place Joe Salerno (endorsed by Take Back SawCreek)
3.  Third place Kathi Connell

We are also proud to say that newbie Saw Creek resident, Deb Wulff, did rather well and we hope that she runs again next election.

We asked: please vote to keep the same executive board. And they did it!  The current Board President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer will remain as is!  Congrats to this Executive Team.
We regret that Ballot Question # 1 and both By-Law Amendments were approved and we believe that a poor voter turn-out enabled these measures to pass, the most important being the Storage Building and its final location in the community. While we do not dispute the need to protect community assets, this initiative is being rushed through, like so many others before it. We all need to keep this project under a microscope or live with decisions we did not make. Over the course of this coming year, modeled on Take Back Saw Creek growth to date, the residents of the community will have a much stronger voting voice.  DO NOT GIVE UP!  We need members to get on to the various committees and we need to attend more board meetings to keep informed.

By-Law Amendment: Article VIII. FINANCES, Section C. Publication of Preliminary Budget was approved.  This change means that the preliminary budget will NO LONGER be published in the Saw Creek Newsletter, but instead will only be posted on the Saw Creek website and in the member services office. The Board and SCECA Management have not presented a reasonable alternative to making this information easily available. Take Back Saw Creek finds this unacceptable and intends to lobby the Board and SCECA Management for a reasonable alternative.

By-Law Amendment: ARTICLE IV. BOARD OF DIRECTORS, Section 2 Meetings: Section C. Regular Meetings was approved.  This change means that "approval of bills" will be removed from the order of business as conducted at board meetings.  We can understand the Boards stance that removing this reduces the length of the meetings and is a duplication of effort since the bills were already approved and most likely paid.  Remember, our Board Members are giving up their personal time to endure lengthy and exhausting board meetings. That said, this measure impacts the transparency and accountability on how our dues are spent. The Board and SCECA Management have not presented a reasonable alternative to making this information easily available. Take Back Saw Creek finds this unacceptable and will lobby for a reasonable alternative.

BOTTOM LINE:  Speak up !  Write to the SCECA board at scebod@sawcreek.org, or attend monthly board meetings, held at 10AM the second Saturday of every month!  You must let the board know how you feel!
